The late Dr. John H. Gerstner was a theologian of the first rank, as evidenced by this quote from R.C. Sproul: “If God gave me the opportunity to apply my mind to the fullest for the next 250 years, I wouldn’t begin to know what John Gerstner knew.”
He wrote long scholarly works (Wrongly Dividing the Word of Truth and The Rational Biblical Theology of Jonathan Edwards) and also shorter paperbacks.
