God Made Babies

This is a wonderful book for laying the groundwork for a child to begin to grasp the wonder of reproduction as a gift from God. God loves to create. He created living things with the ability to create living things like themselves. God made humans in His image, for Him, to be like Him, and to be with Him. “God made us able to make babies that would grow up and make more people. That’s what it means to ‘be fruitful and multiply.’ … Each baby is a gift from God!” The book provides a brief overview of baby development inside the womb. For our family right now, this sparked a few good and brief discussions as I read it with my two kids under 6, while at the same time mom is 35 weeks pregnant with baby boy. My girl kept pointing at the various illustrations of a baby inside a mom’s womb and saying, “That baby’s just like our baby!” A couple more important truths for children to grasp: “God made you on purpose because he wanted you in his world.” “God knew all about you and was excited for you to be born!” This book contains in the back a wise and helpful section for parents on things to consider when asked the baby question. Throughout, the book provides a wonderful age-appropriate way for parents to begin teaching their young children a biblical perspective on reproduction.
